I shot this series this past weekend around Downtown Palm Springs. We started off the day checking out the thrift stores ( or so we planned ) we only ended up able to go to one thrift store which was Angel View in Downtown. I myself prefer Gypsyland in Desert Hot Springs, but with the sun almost hitting the peak of the mountains, We had to hurry. It was well worth it we ended up finding the perfect dress. We were going for 40s / modern and I believe it was captured.

I shot this series this past weekend around Downtown Palm Springs.
We started off the day checking out the thrift stores ( or so we
planned ) we only ended up able to go to one thrift store which was
Angel View in Downtown. I myself prefer Gypsyland
in Desert Hot Springs, but with the sun almost hitting the peak of the
mountains, We had to hurry. It was well worth it we ended up finding the
perfect dress. We were going for 40s / modern and I believe it was
captured.
We finally started scoping around for places around 2pm, but we realized there was not enough time. Time is everything and you should really plan on finding locations to shoot at least the day before that way it allows you to relax a little and start shooting as soon as possible whenever you only have a little time left of sunlight is the worst. There is so much beautiful modern architecture in Palm Springs so it was hard to decide. We then decided we would try The Ace Hotel ( +Ace Hotel ) in Downtown It was the perfect spot. Beautiful colors and artistic energy at this place. It was my first time shooting with a male and a female together (other than for engagement shoots) and I was iffy about how it was gonna go ( as i always am. lol. ). Needless to say my two models did great. They both had great energy and contributed their creativeness for the shots. I believe finding people that will model for you and wont be shy is key (unless shyness is what youre going for). I had a great time shooting Male and Female. I am excited to keep going and for the next one.
This is my last shoot of 2013. Crazy to think a year ago this time I bought my very own first DSLR. 2013 has been very rewarding. I have shot countless parties, models, and locations. I am looking forward to where this journey is going to take me. I know 2014 is going to be one crazy year and I cant wait to see where it will take me creatively. xD
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :)
